Aspire Park spreads across an area of 880,000 m² right in the heart of Doha
The park’s lush green landscape offers a 3.37-hectare sanctuary for fowls and birds
When you visit Aspire Park, you’ll get to see rare flora like floss silk trees
Surrounded by famous sports venues like Khalifa Stadium, Aspire Dome and Hamad Aquatic Centre, Doha’s biggest park was designed to encourage fitness and relaxation. Besides being a popular hangout for Doha locals, Aspire Zone is known for its world-class sports facilities where the 2006 Asian Games were hosted.
Take a stroll through the park, admiring its unique collection of rare plants and exotic trees – particularly the quirky bottle-shaped floss silk trees from Argentina. With lots of shaded areas, it’s a perfect spot for a picnic as you admire some of the best views of the Torch Tower.
Your little ones will have a fantastic time at the park’s many play areas, complete with swings, rides and bike paths. See if you can spot some koi fish in the manmade lake, kick around a ball or go out on a paddle boat or kayak. The whole park is geared towards exercise and well-being, with regular kids’ clubs to keep them active and entertained. At the nearby KidZania, kids can explore mini cities and try out different jobs for the day. On hot days, they’ll enjoy being splashed by the overarching fountains on the bridge.
The park’s eateries cater to all tastes, from healthy bites and burgers on the go, to sweet treats like pancakes and pastries. There are several cafés right on the lake, with pretty views across the water. Meet friends for a leisurely lunch, or top up your picnic supplies and enjoy your meal under the shade of the trees.
Located close to Khalifa Stadium, the modern architecture of the 1460 m² Aspire Park Mosque blends perfectly with the sports facilities around it. The comfortable space provides a place of prayer for 700 men and 150 women.
Aspire Park is popular with joggers who enjoy the rubberised 1.6km running/walking track. There are also regular exercise classes, marathons and fitness events happening around the park. If you’re into skateboarding, show off your skills at the large flow bowl.
Each year, Aspire Park comes alive with activities and competitions to celebrate Founder’s Day on 18 December – an important day in Qatar’s history where we commemorate our country’s unification in 1878. Along with many sporting events, you can learn more about Qatari culture, such as making Arabic coffee and playing the rebab musical instrument, and see camel parades and stunning air shows.
This award-winning sports destination is a must-visit for sporty families who will enjoy staying in the area and visiting attractions like the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum.
Entry into Aspire Park is free.
Aspire Park is open 24 hours a day but restaurants and restrooms from 8:00am to 10:00pm.
